Lucideon Collaborates With Technetics Group on NASA-Approved Ceramic Composite Material

Lucideon, a leader in materials technology and testing, has announced a collaboration with Technetics Group. The partnership aims to develop NASA-patented materials for next-generation dynamic seals. These materials are designed for high-temperature and high-speed applications in various markets.

Technetics Group has licensed a NASA-patented ceramic composite to create low-friction seals for high-performance rotating environments. Dr. Carolyn Grimley, Manager of U.S. Advanced Materials and Processing at Lucideon, emphasized Lucideon’s expertise in ceramic processing as crucial to the project. Their advanced equipment will establish detailed testing conditions.

The initial phase focuses on consolidating experimental parameters from the NASA patent, aiming to replicate the material as closely as possible. The work is conducted at Lucideon's Raleigh site, utilizing their state-of-the-art laboratories.
