Manfred Knof is leaving Commerzbank at the end of the month

Commerzbank AG's CEO, Manfred Knof, will step down on September 30, 2024. This decision was agreed upon with the Supervisory Board. Bettina Orlopp, current Deputy CEO, will succeed him.

Jens Weidmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, acknowledged Knof’s contributions. Weidmann noted Knof’s role in stabilizing the bank during challenging times and aligning its strategy with customer and investor needs. Weidmann praised Knof’s commitment to the bank's social responsibility and employees’ interests.

Knof expressed pride in his team's achievements, highlighting the bank’s return to being amongst Europe’s leading banks. He emphasized the timely nature of his departure amidst ongoing challenges.

Knof joined Commerzbank in 2021, with a background including positions at Dresdner Bank, Allianz, and Deutsche Bank. His tenure was marked by a focus on growth and sustainability.
