Invitation to tender for the management of the Namibe Corridor in Angola
On December 5, 2025, the Angolan Ministry of Transport launched an international tender for a 30-year concession, extendable to 50 years, for the management of the Namibe Corridor. This area includes the Moçâmedes–Menongue railway line and its associated infrastructure.
Interested entities can submit their proposals until May 4, 2026. The project includes the possibility of designing new rail spurs to Namibia and Zambia. According to Jorge Bengue, this project represents an opportunity for experienced international rail operators.
The Namibe Corridor, 855 km long and including the Port of Namibe, is a central axis for Angolan exports. It is seen as a lever for regional integration, with a transport capacity of 5 million tons per year.
