Mobilezone: stable results and forecasts for 2024 confirmed
The Swiss Mobilezone Group recorded stable growth in the first half of 2024. Revenue adjusted for currency effects reached 488 million Swiss francs, compared to 474 million last year.
EBITDA stands at CHF 35.0 million, up from CHF 33.4 million in the previous financial year. Operating profit (EBIT) remains stable at CHF 28.1 million. The company confirms its outlook and forecasts an overall EBIT of between CHF 68 and 75 million for the year 2024.
The figures demonstrate the strength of Mobilezone despite a decline in sales in Switzerland. Online business in Germany grew by 13%, with a notable increase in postpaid subscriptions. Refurbished smartphones under the jusit brand continue to show strong demand.
In Switzerland, sales decreased but EBITDA increased slightly. The company's profitability remains stable. In Germany, sales increased despite a competitive market, and the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) business continues to grow.
Markus Bernhard has stepped down as CEO but remains Executive Delegate of the Board of Directors. Co-CEOs Roger Wassmer and Wilke Stroman will take over the leadership of the Group as of July 1, 2024.
