Moody's Affirms 'Baa1' Rating with Stable Outlook for Amprion GmbH

Moody's Ratings, the international rating agency, has reaffirmed Amprion GmbH's "Baa1" rating with a stable outlook during its annual review. This decision supports the transmission system operator's solid position in the energy sector, particularly in relation to Germany's climate targets and grid expansion efforts. Alongside this evaluation, Moody's has also maintained the "Prime-2" short-term and Commercial Paper ratings for Amprion.

Amprion GmbH plays a crucial role in the energy transition within Germany, contributing to the achievement of climate goals through significant grid expansion. Peter Rüth, the Chief Financial Officer of Amprion, emphasized the company's central role in this process and highlighted the Moody's rating as a reflection of their stable business model and dependable financial practices.

The company facilitates the transportation of electricity over an 11,000-kilometre extra-high voltage grid, covering a substantial area from the North Sea to the Alps. This grid is instrumental in securing the livelihood and quality of life for approximately 29 million people in a region that accounts for about a third of Germany's economic output. With about 2,300 employees spread across Dortmund and over 30 other locations, Amprion ensures the grid's stability and safety while steering towards a climate-compatible energy system.
