Mutares Expands in Finland with Acquisition of VR Road Logistics

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has signed an agreement to acquire VR Road Logistics from the state-owned VR Group, marking its sixteenth acquisition in 2024. This move aims to bolster Mutares’ Goods & Services segment, particularly enhancing its presence in Finland. The acquisition comes on the heels of previous successful ventures in Palmia and Redo, consolidating Mutares’ strategic focus in the Nordic region.

VR Road Logistics, a key player in Finland’s road logistics, generated approximately EUR 80 million in revenues in 2023. The company mainly serves industrial sectors including forestry, metals, construction, and mining, offering Full Truck Loads, Circular Economy services, and more. The transaction awaits approval from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority and is expected to complete by the last quarter of 2024.
