Mutares Completes Acquisition of S.M.A. Metalltechnik

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has finalized the acquisition of S.M.A. Metalltechnik GmbH & Co. KG and its subsidiaries. This move aims to bolster the SFC Group, adding a leading manufacturer of highly impermeable aluminium pipes to its portfolio.

S.M.A. Metalltechnik, based in Backnang, Germany, specializes in manufacturing aluminium pipes for automotive cooling systems. It operates facilities in South Africa, Romania, and China, employing around 1,500 people. The company is expected to contribute approximately EUR 160 million in revenue in 2025.

This acquisition enhances SFC Group’s offerings in climate control and thermal management, further strengthening its position in fluid transfer systems within the automotive industry, while broadening its customer base and existing relationships.
