Stellantis Sells Free2move Car-Sharing Business to Mutares

Stellantis has reached an agreement to sell its Free2move car-sharing entity to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. Free2move offers flexible car-sharing services accessible via a proprietary app across 14 cities in Europe and the U.S. This move is part of Stellantis’ FaSTLAne 2030 strategy, focusing on core automotive activities and optimizing capital allocation.

Mutares plans to enhance Free2move’s operational platform, focusing on fleet management, the transition to electric vehicles, and urban mobility requirements. The transaction aims for closure by the end of 2026, pending regulatory and customary approvals. This acquisition represents a strategic expansion into the mobility sector for Mutares, promising growth through increased agility and dedicated investments.
