Nano One Secures Additional C$4.3 Million from Canadian Government
Vancouver-based Nano One Materials Corp. announced a significant boost in funding with an additional C$4.3 million granted by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). This support is part of the Energy Innovation Program aimed at enhancing the company's battery material production capabilities. These funds will facilitate software integration for a Distributed Control System (DCS) and a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to advance Nano One's production capacity to 25,000 tonnes per annum.
The grant also expands the project scope announced previously, bringing the total funding to C$9.3 million. This expansion will aid the defense, energy storage, and automotive sectors. The company emphasizes Quebec's pivotal role in battery innovation, with the Candiac facility serving as a launch pad for future developments. Key areas of advancement include increased operational efficiencies and improved product traceability.
This funding supplements Nano One's initiatives to scale its Candiac facility and secure supply chains, aligning with broader efforts to fortify North American energy and defense positions in a rapidly evolving market.
