Nordex Group Secures 98 MW Wind Turbine Order in Sweden
The Nordex Group has announced a new partnership with Holmen Energi AB, securing an order for 98 megawatts (MW) in Sweden. This contract also encompasses a Premium Plus Service agreement for the turbine operations spanning 30 years.
Set for summer 2025, the Nordex Group will provide and erect 14 N163/6.X turbines at the Blisterliden wind farm, located in a forest region within the Västerbotten county in northern Sweden. These turbines will be mounted on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 169 meters and will include the Nordex Advanced Anti-Icing System to mitigate ice buildup on the rotor blades, catering specifically to the cold climate variant.
Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group, expressed enthusiasm over the new collaboration with Holmen, emphasizing the turbines' designed resilience against the challenging weather conditions prevalent in Sweden. The installation of Nordex's anti-icing system and the turbines adapted to cold climates will guarantee dependable power output.
Blisterliden marks the first collaborative venture between Holmen Group, a Swedish forestry industry entity also involved in developing wind farms and hydro power plants, and the Nordex Group.
