Nordex SE to Supply 20 Turbines for Mercedes-Benz Testing Area
The Nordex Group has secured an order from UKA for 20 turbines, totaling 140 megawatts, for a wind farm at the Mercedes-Benz testing site near Papenburg, Germany. This project, recently approved, marks a phase of implementation for one of the largest onshore wind farms in the country.
Gernot Gauglitz from UKA highlighted the significance of this supply, emphasizing the project's role in providing renewable energy to Mercedes-Benz over the next 25 years. The construction involves hybrid towers with a hub height of 164 meters, with concrete elements furnished by Max Bögl Wind AG.
Once operational, the wind farm is expected to satisfy 20% of Mercedes-Benz's annual electricity requirements in Germany. José Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex Group, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration with UKA, acknowledging the project's magnitude.
