OLB Introduces Inclusive Mastercard Touch Cards

Oldenburgische Landesbank AG (OLB) has launched the new Mastercard Touch Card, becoming one of the first banks in Germany to provide this inclusive option for debit, credit, and prepaid cards. These cards feature distinct side notches enabling blind and visually impaired users to differentiate between card types by touch. Debit cards have a round notch, credit cards a square notch, and prepaid cards a triangular notch.

The initiative reflects OLB's commitment to diversity and inclusion, aiming to make card usage more accessible. Sinan Ilkgün, OLB's Head of Business Development, expressed satisfaction that these cards contribute to greater card usability in daily life.

OLB plans a gradual rollout, replacing about 140,000 cards by year-end. Additionally, Gold and World Elite cards will transition to sustainable rPVC materials as part of OLB's sustainability efforts.
