Onco-Innovations Initiates Metabolic Studies for ONC010

Onco-Innovations Limited has commenced metabolite studies for ONC010, its lead nanoparticle-formulated PNKP inhibitor. The studies aim to evaluate intrinsic clearance, metabolic pathways, and species-specific reactions. This research will support future toxicology studies, pharmacokinetic modeling, and regulatory submissions.

Conducted in collaboration with Nucro-Technics, the studies assess ONC010's stability in human, rat, and dog systems. Using hepatocytes and liver microsomes provides a comprehensive understanding of live metabolism. This strategy is part of Onco-Innovations' broader IND-enabling development plan, complementing ongoing research activities.

Dr. Islam Mohamed emphasized the role of these studies in oncology drug development, contributing to dose selection and safety assessment. According to CEO Thomas O'Shaughnessy, the findings are crucial for future toxicology studies and clinical translation strategies, marking a significant milestone toward a First in Human study.
