A consortium comprising Bouygues Telecom, Free-iliad Group, and Orange has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire SFR from Altice France. This major transaction aims to enhance the telecommunications landscape in France by reinforcing investment capacity and fostering innovation.

Valued at €20.35 billion, the transaction is structured to ensure service continuity and employment security for SFR staff until 2029. The agreement includes specific price adjustment mechanisms and break-up fees.

The acquisition involves a comprehensive distribution of SFR’s assets among the consortium members, with each operator assuming control over specific customer bases and infrastructure. The transaction promises significant synergies, ultimately benefiting the French digital ecosystem.

Pending regulatory approval, the finalization is anticipated by the second half of 2027, marking a strategic advancement in the European telecom sector.
