Orange, in a joint effort with Bouygues Telecom and Free–iliad Group, has signed an agreement to acquire SFR from Altice France. This move is anticipated to bolster Orange's market position in France and hasten value creation for shareholders.

The acquisition aims to maintain a competitive market while fortifying the sector's investment potential. The focus is on developing robust digital services and infrastructure. The agreement also ensures job security for SFR employees until 2029, emphasizing Orange's commitment to social responsibility.

Orange's stake in this 20.35 billion euros transaction is valued at 5.6 billion euros. Cost synergies are expected to surpass 0.5 billion euros annually by optimizing infrastructure and network operations. The transaction will be financed with debt, keeping Orange's leverage around 2x IFRS.

The deal awaits regulatory approval, and Orange remains optimistic but cautious about completion, projected for late 2027.
