ParTec AG Integrates Quantum Processors into European HPC Systems
On November 25, 2025, ParTec AG announced the successful integration of two quantum processors, each with over 100 qubits, into Europe’s high-performance computing (HPC) systems. This achievement, part of the HPCQS project, represents a significant milestone in developing a hybrid HPC and quantum infrastructure across Europe.
This integration uses ParTec's ParaStation Modulo Software Suite, allowing stable and efficient operation within existing supercomputing environments. The processors, named Jade and Ruby, were incorporated at Forschungszentrum Jülich and the French CEA, marking a key advance towards Europe's goal of a federated quantum HPC infrastructure under the European Digital Compass Strategy.
ParTec’s modular architecture facilitates a seamless blend of quantum and classical computing resources. This strategic move is anticipated to foster development in scientific and industrial applications, positioning Europe as a leader in quantum computing by 2030.
