Planet Water Foundation and Corporate Partners Commit to Action This World Water Day

Planet Water Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating the global water crisis, has announced a collaborative effort with several corporate partners to address water poverty on World Water Day. The initiative includes the installation of community water filtration systems, specifically the AquaTower filtration system, in schools within rural areas lacking access to safe drinking water.

The AquaTower system is designed to filter non-potable water into safe, drinkable water for up to 1,800 people, using gravity-based technology to remove harmful bacteria and pollutants. Alongside the deployment of these systems, Planet Water Foundation also conducts water-health and hygiene education programs to promote healthy hygiene habits within these communities.

Sustainability is a key focus of the initiative, with Planet Water ensuring the long-term effectiveness of the AquaTowers through regular monitoring visits over four years. Corporate partners, including Watts Water Technologies, Xylem, Capital One Philippines, SFA Group, Valmont Industries, Inc., Macy's, Escudo Antibacterial, Ludacka Wealth Partners, and MetLife Foundation, have provided essential support through funding and volunteer work.

Communities in Cambodia, India, Mexico, the Philippines, and Vietnam have benefitted from these efforts, receiving both direct access to clean water and education on hygiene. Mark Steele, CEO and founder of Planet Water Foundation, expressed gratitude for the corporate support that enhances the organization's mission to alleviate water poverty globally.
