Preliminary Base of Glacial Till Sampling Completed at Norrland Gold’s Vittanträsket Project
Norrland Gold Corporation has announced the completion of preliminary near-surface geochemical sampling at its Vittanträsket project in Northern Sweden. The Vancouver-based company drilled five shallow holes totaling 230 meters to sample prospective bedrock geology. Results from these assays are expected in the fourth quarter of 2024.
This drilling initiative became feasible thanks to recent amendments in Swedish regulations, allowing Norrland Gold to secure all necessary permits. Ground geophysics and mineralized boulder mapping facilitated the identification of bedrock targets for shallow drilling using a conventional track-mounted rig.
The Vittanträsket tenement stands out as one of the most substantial soil geochemical gold anomalies in Sweden, as defined by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU). Comparable gold-soil geochemical anomalies are found at known deposits like the Barsele deposit of Agnico-Eagle / First Nordic Metals within the Gold-line.
The company is led by CEO Anders West, and the Vittanträsket project's data has been reviewed and approved by qualified person Douglas J. Kirwin in accordance with National Instrument 43-101.
