Prince Foundation Highlights Public-Private Partnership in Mine Action at Geneva Convention

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA - Prince Foundation showcased its pivotal role in Cambodia’s demining efforts at the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention in Geneva. Gabriel Tan, Chief Communications Officer of Prince Holding Group, emphasized the importance of private sector involvement in eradicating landmines and promoting sustainable development.

H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and President of the 2024 Ottawa Convention, chaired a dialogue on private sector partnership in mine action, noting the crucial contribution of private enterprises like Prince Foundation. The Cambodian delegation included prominent figures such as Robert Hwang and Albert Tan from TAFTAC and Andrew Tey from CGTI.

The event marked significant private sector participation in humanitarian demining discussions. Prince Foundation has been actively engaged in demining and victim assistance projects. Its collaboration with organizations like UNDP Cambodia and the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority demonstrates a model of effective public-private partnership.

Gabriel Tan and H.E. Ly Thuch underscored the ongoing challenges due to landmines in Cambodia and the necessity of joint efforts. The foundation's involvement spans various initiatives, including supporting the Cambodian Wheelchair Basketball Federation and contributing to significant demining activities across different provinces.
