Pyrum Innovations AG Secures EU Funding for Greece Recycling Plant
Pyrum Innovations AG announces a milestone in Europe's circular economy with EUR 29.4 million granted by the European Innovation Fund for a major project in Greece. This subsidy ensures the full financing of a recycling plant in partnership with Thermo Lysi SA. The plant’s recycling capacity will now handle 45,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres annually, doubling previous estimates.
Located 140 km north of Athens in Livanates, the plant will feature innovative thermolysis technology with six state-of-the-art reactors central to its operation. The project totals an estimated EUR 100 million, with Pyrum acquiring a minimum 10% equity stake. All necessary permits are secured, and detailed engineering is underway with completion targeted by the first quarter of 2026.
The initiative signifies progress in sustainability and innovation, positioning Pyrum as a key player in Europe's circular economy, driven by commitments to reduce emissions and recover valuable resources from waste.
