Rise of sustainable packaging: metal comes first in the hearts of European consumers
For the third year in a row, Eviosys, leader in metal packaging, commissioned a European survey on consumer packaging preferences. The 2024 results reveal increased awareness of the environmental impacts linked to packaging. Around 59% of consumers say they are upset by the excessive use of plastic, and 63% view metal as a more sustainable alternative.
The study shows that 57% of consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable packaging and 82% prefer products with recyclable metal packaging. At the same time, 70% favor recyclable and reusable characteristics of packaging rather than sophisticated design.
At a business level, 90% have invested in sustainable packaging solutions, despite cost constraints cited by 33% as a major challenge. Eviosys stands out with innovative solutions such as Ecopeel™, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
