Rivers are Life and Waterhaul Forge Partnership to Boost River Cleanups
Rivers are Life is partnering with U.K.-based Waterhaul to provide innovative litter-picking equipment for global river cleanup initiatives. This collaboration aims to promote waterway protection by offering co-branded cleanup kits crafted from 100% recycled materials.
A survey by SAVANTA reveals that 59% of participants are willing to clean their local rivers in 2024. In response, Rivers are Life and Waterhaul designed cleanup kits featuring materials such as upcycled sails, recycled ocean plastic, and retired fishing gear.
The kits will be utilized in various Rivers are Life events, including the upcoming Baltimore Floatilla event aimed at raising awareness of water pollution and Trout Unlimited Expeditions intended to nurture a sense of stewardship among the youth towards aquatic ecosystems.
Katie Horning, the Director of Marketing at Rivers are Life, expressed enthusiasm about empowering volunteers with these resource-efficient tools. Kieran Hill from Waterhaul highlighted the importance of repurposing harmful ocean waste to combat plastic pollution in river systems.
