Saint-Gobain Begins Very Low Carbon Siding Production in the United States

Stock price chart of SAINT-GOBAIN (EPA:SGO) showing fluctuations.

Saint-Gobain has initiated very low carbon production of siding in its manufacturing facilities located in McPherson (Kansas), Social Circle (Georgia), and Williamsport (Maryland), achieving a reduction of 96% in scope 1 and 2 emissions. This significant reduction has been enabled by the electrification of manufacturing processes at these sites, with the electricity used being sourced entirely from renewable resources.

The company has outlined its plan to transition all its US siding manufacturing sites to net zero emission production facilities, targeting completion within the next few years. This initiative is part of Saint-Gobain's broader strategy to significantly cut CO2 emissions across its operations, aiming for net zero emissions by 2050.

This move aligns with Saint-Gobain's previous achievements in sustainable production, including net zero production of glass in France and plasterboard in Norway, and very low carbon production of glass wool in Finland. With these steps, Saint-Gobain cements its position as a global leader in sustainable construction and its commitment to a carbon-neutral economy.
