Saint-Gobain Finalizes Acquisition of OVNIVER Group in Mexico and Central America
Saint-Gobain has completed the acquisition of OVNIVER Group, known for its Cemix brand, further enhancing its construction chemicals footprint in Mexico and Central America. This acquisition, initially announced in August 2024, aligns with earlier acquisitions like Chryso and GCP, marking a strategic expansion with projected combined sales of €6.5 billion globally across 76 countries.
OVNIVER Group, which operates 16 manufacturing plants and employs around 1,000 people, generated an estimated $285 million in revenue for 2024. The group has experienced an average annual growth of 20% over the past five years and provides a broad array of construction solutions, including façade coatings and tile adhesives.
This acquisition targets the dynamic markets in Mexico and Central America, consistent with Saint-Gobain’s growth strategy in construction chemicals. OVNIVER Group will now be part of Saint-Gobain’s Americas Region.
