Schletter Group Reports Slight Revenue Decline in First Quarter

Kirchdorf/Haag, May 28, 2024: The Schletter Group, a global manufacturer of solar mounting systems, has reported a slight decrease in revenue for the first quarter of 2024. Sales fell by around 5 percent compared to the previous quarter, primarily due to continued low demand in the European rooftop segment. Despite this, the company witnessed growth in its ground-mount segment and expanded significantly in the Asia-Pacific region.

CEO Florian Roos pointed out that consolidation in the European roofing business remains ongoing. Inflation, elevated interest rates, and a shortage of installers have led to a significant drop in sales volume since April 2023. However, signs of normalization are emerging, and the company expects a recovery in the second half of the year as inventories clear.

The ground-mount segment showed notable growth with a 13 percent increase in sales, driven by major projects in the Dominican Republic, Ireland, Germany, and Bulgaria. The Agri-PV business also performed well, with a 4.3 MWp pilot project completed in Austria, making up 54 percent of first-quarter sales.

Internationalization has been a key strategy for Schletter Group, with EMEA accounting for 60 percent of sales. The Asia-Pacific region grew from 25 to 38 percent of sales, with gains in China, Australia, the Philippines, and Thailand. The company plans to focus on sustainability and material efficiency at the upcoming Intersolar Europe trade fair in Munich.
