SCHOTT Pharma, Gerresheimer, and Stevanato Group Form “Alliance for RTU”

SCHOTT Pharma, Gerresheimer, and Stevanato Group have announced the formation of a strategic industry alliance named “Alliance for RTU” to promote the adoption of Ready-to-Use (RTU) vials and cartridges in the pharmaceutical sector. This collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce risks, and elevate patient safety through high-quality sterile primary packaging.

The alliance seeks to share expertise and technical knowledge with pharmaceutical companies and contract manufacturers. By transitioning to RTU containers, these companies can benefit from reduced operational risks, increased flexibility, and lower waste, ultimately lowering the total cost of ownership and easing regulatory compliance.

Additionally, RTU containers improve product quality by minimizing glass particle release and breakage, ensuring the drug's integrity throughout its life cycle. The collaboration also intends to create an open expert platform for other industry players to evaluate the benefits of RTU processes and products.

The Alliance for RTU will officially launch at the CPhI trade show in Milan on October 8.
