Security Concerns Over Chinese-Produced Cellular Radios in the US
Haloid Solutions, a leader in wireless communications equipment, has issued a warning to businesses and government agencies about potential espionage risks associated with Chinese-manufactured cellular two-way radios. Sold in the US by "pop up companies," these devices claimed to be private and secure.
Research conducted by Haloid over the past year indicates that many of these devices are misleadingly marketed. Despite being sold under various U.S. brand names, they are hosted on servers run by Alibaba, presenting potential vulnerabilities to Chinese spying. In some instances, companies falsely claimed affiliations with U.S. entities to gain credibility.
The risks extend beyond espionage. Users could face legal repercussions under laws such as the National Defense Authorization Act and HIPAA. Haloid offers a threat assessment questionnaire for potentially affected users and promotes its secure HaloidX products as an alternative solution.
