Senator Jon Ossoff and Vision To Learn Address Vision Care Crisis Among School Children

More than 3 million public school children in the U.S. lack the glasses they need. Vision To Learn has assisted over 150,000 kids in Georgia and provided more than 34,000 with glasses since 2017. Recently, Senator Jon Ossoff secured $400,000 in federal funding to help Vision To Learn reach more students in Georgia.

At an event in Norcross, GA, Senator Ossoff and Vision To Learn founder Austin Beutner emphasized the importance of vision health for academic success. They celebrated a new federal grant that will support a full-time mobile vision clinic, expanding access to eye exams and glasses for Georgia children.

Sen. Ossoff highlighted the necessity of vision care for children to thrive, thanking Beutner for his leadership. Beutner stressed that millions of children attend school daily without necessary glasses, underlining Vision To Learn's mission to provide essential vision services nationwide, especially in low-income and rural communities.

Vision To Learn, a non-profit, has provided vision screenings to over 3 million children and glasses to approximately 480,000 since its inception. Serving in 17 states, the organization focuses on regions where children lack adequate eye care. The latest funding will further their efforts in Georgia, where over 300,000 students need glasses.
