Sensirion Supports Space Project with Advanced Sensor Technology
Sensirion, a leader in environmental and flow sensor technologies, is contributing to the WOBBLE2 project by providing the SLF3S-4000B sensor. This collaboration involves the Berlin Experimental Astronautics Research Student e.V. (BEARS e.V.) team from the Technical University of Berlin. They have secured a spot in the REXUS/BEXUS program, allowing them to test experiments in space conditions using sounding rockets.
The WOBBLE2 project focuses on innovative satellite fuel tank designs. At its core, Propellant Management Devices (PMD) ensure fuel delivery in zero-gravity environments. Using 3D metal printing, the team develops PMDs to fully exploit additive manufacturing benefits.
Sensirion's SLF3S-4000B sensor is crucial for this project, providing high precision fluid behavior measurements. This technological support enhances the project's experiments and contributes to space technology advancements.
In February 2024, six students attended a training week at ESA's Esrange base in Sweden, facing -30°C temperatures. They gained valuable insights and continue preparing for the March 2025 launch.
