Sky Gold Corp. Sets Sights on Gold and Nickel Exploration in Northwestern Ontario for 2024

Sky Gold Corp. has announced its plan to focus its 2024 exploration efforts on two significant targets within its Shebandowan property in northwestern Ontario. This decision follows a comprehensive analysis of new and existing geophysical and geochemical data, highlighting the potential for both gold and nickel-copper-cobalt-platinum group elements (PGE) mineralization.

The first target, the Mingold Au anomaly, has shown highly promising results with gold values reaching up to 5,250 ppb. The anomaly, related to the regional Tinto Fault, spans roughly 9 square kilometers and is characterized by gold along with anomalous arsenic, antimony, bismuth, copper, lead, and zinc levels. The second target comprises eight high-priority areas prospective for nickel-copper-cobalt deposits, identified from a VTEM survey. These sites feature electromagnetic conductors across ultramafic and mafic rocks, essential for hosting magmatic Ni-Cu-Co-PGE deposits.

Supporting the geophysical findings, till geochemical anomalies from a 2000 survey showcased highly anomalous nickel, copper, chrome, platinum, and palladium values. This geochemical footprint, combined with the geophysical characteristics, underscores the mineral potential of the Shebandowan property.

Looking ahead, Sky Gold Corp. plans to conduct an integrated exploration program including soil geochemistry, prospecting, trenching, and diamond drilling, to further delineate these targets. This exploration initiative aims to unlock the value of the Shebandowan property’s mineral prospects.
