Skyborn Renewables GmbH Announces New CEO and Leadership Transition

Skyborn Renewables GmbH revealed a significant leadership transition, appointing Patrick Lammers as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from June 1, 2024. Lammers, previously the Chief Operating Officer – Commercial (COO-C) at E.ON, will take over from Thomas Karst, who is set to retire on May 31, 2024. Karst, however, will continue to serve in an advisory capacity to facilitate a smooth transition within Skyborn.

The change comes as Skyborn aims to establish itself as a leader in the offshore wind sector, acknowledging the importance of offshore wind in achieving the world's net zero carbon targets. Søren Skou, Chair of the Advisory Board, praised both executives. Skou commended Karst for his leadership and contributions to Skyborn, particularly highlighting his role in facing industry challenges and his efforts in making Skyborn a resilient company. Meanwhile, Skou welcomed Lammers, emphasizing his extensive experience and leadership during E.ON's critical periods, and his potential to drive Skyborn forward.

Lammers, with a noteworthy career spanning across various sectors including energy and technology, expressed his optimism about the role of offshore wind in the energy transition. Karst reflected on his time with Skyborn, recognizing the team's efforts in overcoming industry challenges and establishing the company as an independent entity with comprehensive offshore wind capabilities. Both leaders share a confident outlook for Skyborn's future under Lammers' guidance.
