SMA Solar Reports Sales Growth, One-Time Effects Impact Earnings

SMA Solar Technology AG reported an increase in sales for the first nine months of 2025, reaching €1,134.7 million, compared to €1,059.7 million in 2024. However, earnings were adversely affected by one-time effects, with EBITDA at –€16.9 million, down from €83.5 million in the previous year. The Large Scale & Project Solutions division saw a strong sales increase of 24.8%, while the Home & Business Solutions division experienced a significant decline due to weak demand and competitive pressures.

The company's order backlog was €1.3 billion at the end of September 2025. Despite challenges, SMA remains focused on high-growth markets, with the Managing Board confirming adjusted sales guidance for 2025. The restructuring program has helped improve competitiveness and efficiency, although the Home & Business Solutions division continues to struggle.
