SMX and CETI Collaborate to Enhance Textile Circularity and Traceability
SMX (Security Matters) PLC and the European Center for Innovative Textiles (CETI) have announced a partnership to integrate SMX's molecular traceability platform into CETI's textile research. This collaboration aims to authenticate fibers and track textiles across their lifecycle, fostering a circular economy in Europe's textile industry.
The initiative will embed SMX's molecular markers and blockchain-backed systems in CETI's pilot projects, enhancing lab-to-market transitions and improving grant applications. The partnership intends to support European Union regulations and sustainability goals, benefiting various textile sectors from luxury fashion to technical fabrics.
CETI's Managing Director, Frederic Silvert, emphasized the importance of SMX's platform in meeting circularity targets, enhancing consumer trust, and fostering responsible innovation in the textile industry. The collaboration positions Lille as a hub for next-generation textile solutions, merging molecular identity with digital traceability to advance sustainability.
