South Star Battery Metals Acquires 100% of BamaStar Project
South Star Battery Metals Corp. has announced the acquisition of 100% of the BamaStar Graphite Project in Coosa County, Alabama. Previously known as the Ceylon Graphite Project, South Star initially earned a 75% stake by fulfilling conditions set out in a 2021 agreement, which included completing a NI 43-101 compliant Preliminary Economic Analysis and investing a minimum of C$750,000. The company acquired the remaining 25% for C$250,000 in common shares.
The acquisition aligns with South Star's strategy to establish a diversified, vertically integrated portfolio of graphite assets in stable jurisdictions. CEO Richard Pearce emphasized the significance of this milestone as South Star transitions from a project developer to a producing miner. The company plans to focus on a feasibility study with the U.S. Department of Defense's Title III program.
