Swiss Re Announces Executive Committee Changes
Swiss Re has appointed Kera McDonald as the new Group Chief Underwriting Officer, effective June 1, 2025. McDonald, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience, has been with Swiss Re since 2006. Her recent roles include being Chief Underwriting Officer for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. The appointment awaits regulatory approval.
Concurrently, Patrick Raaflaub will retire by the end of September 2025. Raaflaub, who has been with Swiss Re for a total of 25 years, served as Group Chief Risk Officer since 2014. The company is in the process of selecting his successor.
Under McDonald's leadership, Swiss Re aims to enhance underwriting excellence across its Business Units. Her responsibilities will include capacity allocation and overseeing complex transactions.
