Syngenta Enhances Fungicide Leadership with ADEPIDYN® Technology

Syngenta Group announced that its ADEPIDYN® technology (pydiflumetofen) is on course to reach the $1 billion sales milestone within eight years of commercialization, a record achievement for any of its crop protection ingredients. This follows its recent approval in Great Britain, making the fungicide available in over 55 countries. The efficient control of a wide range of crop diseases has made it popular among farmers worldwide.

The ADEPIDYN® technology is noted for its effectiveness against considerable agricultural challenges including fusarium head blight in wheat and septoria, enhancing global food security. Its success is pivotal to Syngenta's ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability in agricultural solutions. The technology operates by inhibiting an enzyme essential in fungal respiration, thereby preventing the proliferation of the fungus while being considerate of beneficial organisms and reducing environmental impact.

Moreover, this milestone is part of Syngenta’s broader strategy to deliver science-based innovations to advance agriculture. The introduction of ADEPIDYN® meshes with its other advances in succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicide technologies that have transformed farming practices for crops like rice, corn, and soybeans, notably improving plant protection and yield.
