Syngenta Group Secures $4.5 Billion Sustainability-Linked Loan

Syngenta Group (HK) Holdings Company Limited has finalized a USD 4,500 million sustainability-linked term loan facility. Announced on December 23, 2024, the agreement involves a syndicate of banks including the Agricultural Bank of China Limited Hong Kong Branch and others. The loan facility was oversubscribed by 2.6 times, reflecting strong interest from more than 40 banks.

This facility equals the size of Syngenta Group's initial syndicated loan closed in 2022 and is the largest in the Asia Pacific loan market this year, according to LSEG LPC. The funds will be directed towards refinancing and general working capital, aligning with the company’s new sustainability initiatives launched in April 2024.

Syngenta's global credit ratings stand at “A” from Fitch, “Baa1” from Moody’s, and “BBB+” from S&P, underscoring its stable financial outlook.
