Taranis Resources Drilling Update on Thor's South Magnetotelluric Target
Taranis Resources Inc. has provided an update on its Thor project in British Columbia, involving exploration of the South Tusk target. The 2024 drilling program aimed to examine the conductive South Tusk feature, potentially rich in metals. The first drill hole was inconclusive, while the second, Thor-242, unexpectedly revealed a zinc-rich extension of the Broadview Mine.
Analysis of Thor-242 disclosed intercalated metasedimentary and volcaniclastic rocks. Notably, significant graphite levels in the South Tusk suggest thermal metamorphism in sedimentary rocks, highlighting an extensive thermal alteration zone. However, subsequent drills failed to replicate Thor-242's results.
The data confirms that the North and South Tusks are part of a larger conductive anomaly under the Thor deposit, identified through geophysical surveys for elevated conductivity levels related to graphite presence.
