Technical interruption of ElecLink operations

Following the detection of a malfunction in the electricity interconnector between France and Great Britain, ElecLink has temporarily suspended its operations. This interruption was decided to guarantee the safety and integrity of the infrastructure.

The shutdown will continue until the annual maintenance scheduled from October 6 to 9. This period will be used to conduct in-depth investigations into the origin of the defect. The date for resuming operations will be confirmed at a later date.

The Getlink group, concessionaire of the Channel Tunnel infrastructure, ensures the transfer of passengers and goods between Folkestone and Calais and contributes to the energy balance between France and the United Kingdom thanks to ElecLink.
