Tensor and Münchner Taxi Zentrum Collaborate to Launch Autonomous Taxis in Germany

Tensor Auto, a U.S.-based AI company, is joining forces with Munich's largest taxi operator, Münchner Taxi Zentrum (MTZ), to introduce autonomous taxis in Germany. The two companies have signed a letter of intent (LOI) to deploy Tensor Robocars, with MTZ controlling operations.

This partnership emphasizes an operator-led model, where taxi operators maintain control over fleets and customer interactions. Tensor will provide its Robocar technology as a subscription service, ensuring data and operational management remain within Europe.

An initial deployment across German cities includes up to 500 Robocars. This move aims to expand to 10,000 vehicles across Europe within 24 months, aligning with MTZ's established expertise in urban mobility.

The Robocar, distinctively engineered for autonomy and personal ownership, promises efficiency with automatic maintenance abilities and interactive AI. This collaboration highlights autonomous driving technology's potential to transform urban transportation.
