The Blockchain Group Acquires Bitcoin
The Blockchain Group has confirmed the acquisition of 580 bitcoins for approximately €47.3 million. This transaction brings its total holdings to 620 bitcoins, valued at €50.5 million. The transaction was carried out by its wholly-owned subsidiary, The Blockchain Group Luxembourg SA, following a convertible bond issue.
The company has adopted new key performance indicators: 'BTC Yield', 'BTC Gain', and 'BTC € Gain'. These indicators are not traditional financial performance measures but illustrate the company's Bitcoin Treasury strategy.
The acquisition was executed by Swissquote Bank Europe SA and custody is handled by Taurus' technology solution. The group has achieved a BTC yield of 709.8% since the beginning of the year.
