The Council of Indigenous Peoples Showcases Taiwan's Tribal Heritage at Berlin Tourism Expo

For the first time, the Council of Indigenous Peoples participated in the Berlin ITB (Internationale Tourismus Börse), one of the most significant events organized by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to promote tourism. This participation is a part of their efforts to introduce the rich cultural heritage of Taiwan's indigenous tribes to the global community. The event featured performances by the Zuyun Cultural Music and Dance Troupe and offered attendees the chance to engage in traditional crafting, including making Paiwan glass beads.

Aiming to attract international tourists, the Council emphasizes cultural and ecological sustainability embedded in tribal tourism. Indigenous tribes in Taiwan, located amidst mountains and along coastlines, offer unique experiences that reflect their diverse cultures and languages. This initiative aligns with the theme of the Taiwan Pavilion, "Embrace the Mountains, Embrace the Sea, Enjoy the Circumference of the Island," showcasing the serene and enriching experiences available to travelers. Seasonal festivals and celebrations further highlight the tribes' respect and gratitude for nature, presenting a rich cultural calendar for visitors to explore.

Global travelers interested in experiencing the indigenous culture of Taiwan and its commitment to preserving ecological and cultural integrity can find more information on the dedicated Qadaw website.
