Thomas Rücker named new director of auto-suisse
Thomas Rücker has been appointed as the director of auto-suisse, succeeding Andreas Burgener starting from June 1, 2024, according to a press release dated February 22, 2024. His career has taken him from General Motors Switzerland to IVECO Switzerland, and then to Designwerk Technologies, specializing in electric vehicles. The board of directors sees him as the ideal person to lead the future challenges of the automotive sector, which is undergoing significant transformation.
Furthermore, the association is strengthening its leadership by promoting Christoph Wolnik, who has been in charge of public relations for nine years, to the position of deputy director starting from January 1, 2024. This appointment is part of an effort to broaden responsibilities within the organization.
Rücker, with a solid experience and an extensive professional network, is ready to tackle the challenges of a market constantly moving towards independence from fossil fuels. His predecessor, Burgener, highlights his ideal skills to continue the development of auto-suisse.
