Tocvan Updates Progress on Pilar Gold-Silver Project
Tocvan Ventures Corp. has issued an update on its 2024 drilling program at the Pilar Gold-Silver project in Sonora, Mexico. A total of 3,268 meters have been drilled across 26 RC drill holes, with results pending for 11 holes. Field operations for summer will focus on mapping, rock sampling, and soil sampling across the southern expansion area.
The drilling program has been temporarily paused to review results and assess weather conditions. The company is considering a second drilling rig later this year to enhance the geological model. Current placer mining activity indicates a new prospective area in the northern expansion block.
CEO Brodie Sutherland expressed satisfaction with the program's progress. Core drilling will be re-implemented to support ongoing exploration. Initial findings suggest a larger mineralized footprint at Pilar, and the company is evaluating UAV-based magnetics surveys to define fault structures and mineralization.
The company's efforts now extend to a 22-square kilometer area in Sonora. Initial rock sampling has shown promising results, with mineralization remains open to the north and east. Further soil and rock chip sampling are planned to define additional resource potential and mine infrastructure locations.
