DEBRA Research Invests in Topadur for New Therapies in Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa

DEBRA Research has invested in Topadur Pharma AG to support the development of small-molecule therapies for dystrophic Epidermolysis bullosa (DEB), a severe genetic skin disorder. The preclinical program will evaluate Topadur's compounds, including TOP-N53, targeting key disease aspects like wound healing and fibrosis.

This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the University of Freiburg and EB Research Institute in Salzburg. DEBRA's involvement highlights the potential of these therapies to address significant unmet medical needs in DEB.

Topadur's DualTOP® platform focuses on locally acting compounds. TOP-N53 has shown promise in preclinical models and early human trials for wound healing, with ongoing clinical evaluation for systemic sclerosis.
