TradeMark Africa and Rwanda Government Set to Host Landmark Trade Development Forum in Kigali

The Government of Rwanda and TradeMark Africa (TMA) will co-host the Trade Development Forum in Kigali from December 2 to 3, 2024. The event will bring together leaders from 14 TMA implementing countries, development partners, academicians, multilateral organizations, and private sector representatives.

This year's theme, "Digital Trade," will spotlight innovative practices and technologies such as digital payment interoperability, distributed ledger technology (DLT), and the use of artificial intelligence in trade processes. Discussions will emphasize leveraging technology to streamline trade facilitation and enhance policy frameworks across Africa.

David Beer, CEO of TradeMark Africa, highlighted the forum's focus on digitization and cutting-edge technologies, aiming to further reduce trade barriers and costs. Honourable Prof. Jean Chrysostome Ngabitsinze, Rwanda's Minister for Trade and Industry, expressed pride in hosting the forum, aligning it with Rwanda's dedication to economic development and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
