International Consortium Wins 20-Year Concession for Turkish Vehicle Inspections

An international consortium has signed a concession agreement to manage Türkiye’s vehicle inspection system for the next two decades under the TURKA brand. This consortium includes leading inspection companies from the United States, Spain, Argentina, and Türkiye itself.

The agreement, signed with several Turkish government bodies, marks a significant step, with the official handover of responsibilities scheduled for August 15, 2027. This program involves 34.5 million vehicles and approximately 16 million annual inspections, categorizing it among the largest worldwide.

A $3 billion modernization plan will accompany the operational takeover, aiming to revamp existing infrastructure. The introduction of 249 fixed and 103 mobile inspection stations, coupled with 900 inspection lanes, will enhance efficiency through advanced technologies like AI and laser scanning.

TURKA’s Chairman, Halis Ezer, emphasized the program’s focus on speed, reliability, and transparency, aligning services with international standards to address the needs of Türkiye's expanding vehicle fleet.
