Türkiye's Vehicle Inspection Overhaul: A $3 Billion AI Transformation
Türkiye is set to revolutionize its vehicle inspection system with a $3 billion investment focused on artificial intelligence and automation. The initiative involves the establishment of 352 new inspection centers across the country, featuring approximately 900 inspection lines, and is set to be implemented from August 15, 2027.
The transformation aims to modernize Türkiye's 20-year-old vehicle inspection infrastructure. Supported by TURKA Vehicle Inspection, advancements include AI-assisted imaging, laser systems, contactless tyre measurement, and robotic technology. These innovations are being tested at a Pilot Centre in Istanbul to ensure efficient operation when fully deployed.
The integration of inspection data onto a centralized digital platform will enhance accuracy and streamline processes. This transformation accommodates the rise of electric and connected vehicles by integrating new testing methods into the traditional mechanical checks.
The initiative positions Türkiye as a potential model for countries like the UK, which are exploring future vehicle inspection systems focused on technology.
