Ubisense Unveils Dual UWB and RTK-GPS Technology for Enhanced Outdoor Asset Tracking Systems

Ubisense, a leader in spatial awareness and precision real-time location systems, has announced the release of its new dual-technology tracking tag, the Dimension4™ RTK-Tag. The device uses both Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and signal-corrected RTK-GPS to track assets indoors and outdoors with up to 5cm accuracy. This new technology is set to transform operations in industries like mass transit and heavy manufacturing.

In congested transit depots, real-time tracking of vehicles is essential for improving efficiency and performance. The RTK-Tag supports both Ubisense and third-party Transit Yard Management solutions to tackle issues like space constraints and complex fleet maintenance. With its proven indoor tracking capabilities, Ubisense aims to extend its expertise to more global deployments.

Casey Riva, Technical Account Manager at Ubisense, highlighted that the Dimension4™ RTK-GPS tags enhance operational efficiency using fewer sensors, offering a strong return on investment for transit depots and rail yards.

The Dimension4 RTK-Tag is already in use at several sites in the US and UK. For more details on how Ubisense technology is advancing transit yard management, visit Ubisense.com.
