UEG Unveils Patient Representatives Advisory Board at UEG Week 2026

United European Gastroenterology (UEG) has launched the Patient Representatives Advisory Board (PRAB) to enhance patient involvement in digestive health initiatives. Announced at UEG Week 2026 in Barcelona, the PRAB aims to integrate patient perspectives into UEG's public affairs and broader efforts to improve digestive health in Europe.

The launch builds on UEG's past collaborations with patient organizations, advocating for patients as co-creators of digestive health policy and research. The PRAB serves as a formal interface, aiming to address common challenges and boost cooperation with patient groups.

Professor Joost PH Drenth, UEG President, emphasized the importance of integrating patient insights to better respond to their needs. The PRAB’s establishment during the Digestive Health Roundtable 2026 brings patient views into research discussions, focusing on outcome measures and involvement throughout the research lifecycle.
